August 28, 2007 I finally started scanning my old slides
and got about 1/4 way through one tray. Only about 6-8
thousand pics left! I hope you enjoy the Wallpaper
page. Saturday,
August 25, 2007 I'm also working on about 4-5 other
pieces, incorporating zydeco, fusion, hip hop, acid rock and other
styles. I hope to post 1-2 tunes here soon. Tuesday,

It's painstakingly slow to
finish anything anymore, but I finally finished Winter Solstice, a
piece I began in October, 2010. It's at the Atmosphere
page. My old pal Terence Butler plays flute on
it!
It takes me a few months to
finish each piece I start, which is ridiculously slow, but I'm
enjoying the musical companionship I've found at Soundcloud.com. It's a site mostly
for musicians to post their work for others to comment on.
I've developed a number of new musician friends whose work I enjoy
and with whom I carry on a regular discussion regarding our musical
journeys. I'm currently collaborating with two Portugese
musicians to record a synthesizer solo on one of their pieces.
Don't forget to visit the Atmosphere page every now and then as I do
post new material there every so often. If you'd like to see
the most current updates on my music though, please visit Soundcloud
.
I'm determined to keep
recording, though I don't play much anymore. I started
recording again in March and eventually finished one track (Pink Jam), and now I'm working
on a track called Bali.
It's slow but it means a lot to me, I always have multiple ideas of
things to work on, and I'll be posting different kinds of tunes up
here in the coming months. I've been selling lots of gear and
other stuff on eBay, and I'll be doing more things with software
that I used to do with hardware.
I haven't been recording for almost two years. I tried to start a piece called Winter
Solstice back in early October. I'd hoped to record it piece by
piece in small increments in time for the Winter Solstice, but haven't been able to
do further work on it at all. Because of health problems, I
can no longer sit or stand at my keyboards. Hopefully, the
back surgery planned for January will help.
Updated the Photo Page with most of the
studio photos that have appeared here over the past few
years.
Re-wiring the studio to accommodate my
new (used) gear: a MOTU
Midi Express XT and Korg Triton Extreme
76. This was the only
keyboard Jan Hammer took with him when he recently toured with Jeff
Beck. I got it for 1/2
price on, you guessed it, e-bay.
I
recorded a soundtrack to go with a series of short
stories written by a friend of mine from Belfast, Ireland. The first
soundtrack is called Manic's Swamp, which is
at the Atmosphere
page.
Well I accomplished a lot this
summer in terms of setting up shop, and I've started getting into
real composition again, but I didn't actually start recording any
serious pieces. Maybe I'll be able to before next summer, or
maybe not. The good news is, I'm rolling again! If you'd
like to hear two rough, unfinished, improvised recordings,
they're at the Atmosphere page.
I'm learning to use Finale, software
for writing, and recording, "classical" music. I'm currently
writing a piece for full orchestra. It's slow going but I'm
getting there!
Moved to new servers at bluehost. How does 30GB at 750GB of bandwidth
sound?
